Brief Description of Subject: This rose window is located high up in the sanctuary. It is the first of three that together will illuminate the Trinity. This window pictures the Son symbolically.

In the center is the Lamb of God carrying the victory over death banner, a symbol for Jesus, the Son. The "Lamb of God" is a Jewish term that refers to the Passover lamb. That lamb was sacrificed to spare their first born from the angel of death and free the Hebrews from the Pharaoh. It was applied to Jesus by John the Baptist. In John 1:29 as Jesus was approaching John to be baptized he greeted Jesus with the words, "Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" NRSVCE

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
