Subject/Title of Window: The Parable of the Sower

Brief Description of Subject: This epistle side window consists of three medallions separated by geometric and floral decorations. Each medallion illuminates a scene from the Parable of the Sower. The parable is covered in Matthew 13:1 - 6. In addition, Christ gave a full explanation of this parable in Matthew 13:18 - 23. All quotes from the NKJV Bible.

Middle Medallion: "Behold, a sower went out to sow." The seeds are the word of the kingdom.

Top Medallion: "Some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them." This is the one who "hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in the heart." And "Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away." And "This is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no roots in himself, but endures it for only a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately stumbles." And "Some fell among the thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them." And "He who received seed among thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfaithful."

Bottom Medallion: Some fell "on good ground and yielded a crop: some hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty." And "this is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit."

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
