Subject/Title of Window: Nativity

Brief Description of Subject: This stained glass window is located directly above the side door on the epistle side. The oldest photo I found (1910) for this Church  showed no such side door. The installation of that side door necessitated that the window be shortened -- thus this window now ends at the bottom of the Nativity scene.

Decorative medallion at top contains an angel's head surrounded by wings that go from shades of blue to fuchsia. This medallion is identical to the medallion in the Garden of Gethsemane window which is located opposite this one.

The birth of Jesus is covered in both the Gospel of Luke and Matthew, however Matthew merely says the He was born in Bethlehem. What is pictured here is Luke 2:7 "And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room at the inn." Note how elaborate the nimbi are; also note the detail on Joseph's pallium.
