Brief Description of Subject: Arched window depicting Martin Luther, founder of the Lutherans, holding the Bible. Luther was the primary author of a new translation of the Bible into German. He originally wished to banish the Epistles of James and Jude, that to the Hebrews, and the Apocalypse of Saint John to an appendix with the other books he considered apocryphal, but was prevailed upon to reinstate them. Below the picture is his coat of arms: A black cross on a red heart on a white five-pointed flower. Window made in Germany. Installed February 14, 1918.
