Brief Description of Subject: At the top of the panel is a hand reaching down symbolizing the hand of God creating the world. There are elements from the Genesis 1. The rays coming from God’s hand represent the separation of light and dark, as well as the separated elements of earth, sky and water. The hills in the window represent life and vegetation. Within the sky is a deeply red and orange sun which represents warmth and the sustaining nature of the sun. The sky also contains other celestial bodies which over time has guided man’s travels, provided light for night travels and fascinated man’s curiosity. At the bottom water is represented and a large fish. The fish is a symbol for all life forms, which is also a Christian symbol.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
