Subject/Title of Window: One Was a Doctor

Brief Description of Subject: Doctor Sweitzer is shown administering to children o both the white and colored races.
The background and borders again recall Hymn 313. Chickens are shown at the feet of Dr. Sweitzer since in the story about him it says that they raised their own food.

The words “I sing a song of the Saints of God” is the first line from Hymn 243.
In the base panel the words “One was a Doctor” were taken from this same Hymn.
In the left hand panel is shown the caduceus which is also the symbol of St. Luke, the great physician.
