City: Troy

Window Shape: 2 (rectangle)

Date of Window: 1946

Subject/Title of Window: Nativity

Brief Description of Subject: The description of this window is quoted from the artist.
"Lovely medallion devoted to the Nativity .... The wide border reflects the dominant color note of the medallion and is designed in the lily motif -- traditional symbol of purity. The small angelic figure below the medallion bears a scroll inscribed with the text from St. Luke's second chapter, 14th verse, "Glory to God ... peace, good will toward men." The light field of variegated tints presents a luminous and brilliant note, but with sufficient texture and patterning to control the direct illumination of the southern light, so that it will be brilliant but at the same time colorful. In the lower portion of the border are the personal symbols of Masonry, - the Blue Lodge and the Consistory."

Note: The Blue Lodge symbol is at the bottom left of window while the Consistory emblem is at the bottom right.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
