Subject/Title of Window: St. Catherine of Siena

Brief Description of Subject: Doctor of the Church, 1347-1380 The Crowning with Thorns St. Catherine is standing and is clothed in the Dominican habit. She is holding the tiara of Pope Gregory XI in her hands. The Pope was living in Afignon and she insisted that he return to Rome where he belonged. The Pope did in fact return to Rome where soon after he died. The bottom of the window shows Jesus standing with a palm branch over his right shoulder. He wears a crown of thorns on his head and is being mocked as King of the Jews by the soldiers. The background of the window is white. Little gold circles border the frame of the entire window. A crossbar goes through the center of each circle making it look as if it is a rosette. There are fifty-three rosettes in the window.
