Subject/Title of Window: Priscilla and Aquila

Brief Description of Subject: Traditionally Priscilla and Aquila have been considered among the 70 original disciples of Christ. They became close friends of St. Paul and accompanied him on some of his missionary trips. Paul's first encounter with them is told in Acts 18:1-3 "Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all Jews to leave Rome. Paul went to see them, and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them."

Priscilla and Aquila are pictured here as tentmakers. Aquila holds scissors, Priscilla a needle, and both have pieces of cloth in their hand.
