City: Jackson

Window Shape: 3 (arched)

Subject/Title of Window: Birth of Christ Part 2

Brief Description of Subject: Section 1 shoes manger scene with Holy Family and Shepherds.
Section #2 slows Christ carrying a lamb in landscape.
Section #3 shows Christ Blessing 4 children (one child in a robe, 3 in German style in 19th century clothing) A border of antique brown and silver stain outlines each section. The top if a quatrefoil with kites- in browns, silver stains and red and is decorative only. The general feeling that these windows sections were put together-probably starting with the 2 lower panels.

The center was then created using a similar style. Border and base decoration. The quatrefoil top section finished out the window. The style of pairing in the center section differs from the 2 side panels. Since 1928 the top section has been cornered by a false barrel vaulted ceiling and could only be seen from the exterior and the attic.

Since it has to be repaired and was most easily accessible in the attic, we open up the ceiling created a new intersecting barrel vault section and can now see the whole window. The project almost has to be seen to be understood! Completed in January 2003

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
