Torch, a symbol of enlightenment and zeal. Basket with two loaves, symbolizes charity to the needy. Cross (Patee) and four books represent the four Evangelists.
Bartholomew (Nathaniel)
Branch of fig-tree, where Jesus first saw him.
Cross (Batonnee) a decorative form of the Cross. Scimitar. While he was preaching in Albanpole, Hippolytus states that he was seized by the governor, flayed, crucified and his dead body decapitated with a scimitar.
