Subject/Title of Window: The Crucifixion of Jesus
Brief Description of Subject: Jesus ministry culminated on that most cruel death instrument, the Roman cross. The cross, crown of thorns, and nails depicted on this window bring to remembrance the deep agony of Jesus, “for who the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame) (Heb. 12:2) The joy set before Him was none other than joy of accomplishing His task, the salvation of mankind through the forgiveness of sins. Jesus prayer from the cross, Father forgive them, echoes down through the centuries as out one great hope. “In him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sin” (Eph. 1:7). Closest to the pulpit, this window reflects the ultimate purpose of our church: We preach Christ crucified (1 Cor. 1:23).

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
