Subject/Title of Window: Pentecost

Brief Description of Subject: Even after ascending, Jesus had not yet completed his ministry. He said while on earth, When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the father, the spirit of truth (John 15:26). That promise was fulfilled on Pentecost when Jesus sent the Spirit, depicted in this window as a descended dove. The spirit in turn endows building of Christ’s kingdom. These gifts are represented by the seven burning lamps, seven indicating the complete sufficiency of the gifts from the task. In this way Jesus equips every Christian, having “committed to us the message of reconciliation…as though God were making His appeal through us” (2Cor. 5:19-20)

The life and Ministry of Our savior is truly the greatest story ever told. It is an ongoing story, for even still Christ Jesus is at the right hand of God and is also interacting for us” (Rom 8:34). He is still equipping his faithful people to repentance and faith. He is still living and ministering for one great purpose: “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God and Father (Phil. 2:10-11).

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
