Building Name: Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church

City: Southgate

Window Shape: 2 (rectangle)

Subject/Title of Window: The Ministry of Christ

Brief Description of Subject: Window Five. The six jars and two things at the top of the picture symbolize the wedding at Cana (John 2:1-11), when Jesus turned water into the best wine and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him. The serpent on the bronze pole reflects Jesus prediction of John 3:14-15 “as lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life”. The robe, ring and shoes are the signs of love which the father showed on the Prodigal Son returned (Luke 15:22), in Jesus’s parables on the inestimable value of God’s Kingdom, the Pearl of Great Value (Matthew 13:45). The sheep standing alone reminds us of Jesus’s parable of the Lost Sheep (Matthew 18:10-14).

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
