The donors, Alec and Jo Mashour, were of Syrian heritage. They gifted this window in thanksgiving of their 50 years of marriage. When they were told that the Garden of Eden was located near Damascus, Syria, they decided that the first couple, Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden would be an appropriate subject for their window.

The window's scene is from Genesis 3:1 - 6. The serpent, coiled around the tree in the middle of the Garden, has already convinced Eve to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree and she will now try to get Adam to do likewise.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
