Subject/Title of Window: Candelabra and Lily

Brief Description of Subject: This decorative aisle window was designed to let light into the Church. It is in the shape of a lit candle and features two shields with symbols:

Symbols used:
Lamp stand with seven candles: In the Old Testament it is a symbol of Israel and its duty to be a "light for the Gentiles" Isaiah 42:6. In the New Testament it symbolizes Jesus --- "I am the light of the world" John 8:12.

White lily: A bulb buried in the ground (tomb) only to rise again (resurrection). The white lily blooms in the early Spring and thus came to be called the "Easter Lily" and symbolizes the Resurrection.
