Subject/Title of Window: Resurrection

Brief Description of Subject: Known as the "Resurrection Window" or the "Berry Memorial Window". Designed by A. L. Willet and Dr. Henry Lee Willet of Philadelphia, who also made the windows of the US Military Chapel and West Point. Installed 1925. In memory of Thomas and Janet Berry. Seven lancets, forty feet tall. Modelled after thirteenth and fourteenth century styles. In center is the Risen Christ, dressed as King, with banner with cross above him. Also features Agnus Dei, standing and book of seven seals. In the tracery openings appear angels, cherubim, and heavenly bodies. In the center of the middle panels is the Angel Gabriel standing in front of open tomb. To left of him are the three women visiting the tomb on Easter morning. To Gabriel’s right are Ss. Peter and John Evangelist. In outer panels on either side are Roman soldiers, including St. Longinus the Centurion. Farthest outside panels, on either side, feature archangels Michael, Raphael, Chamael, Jophiel, and also Saint George. The lowest row (Predella) shows the Nativity. Christ Child has center panel to Himself. Saint Joseph kneels in panel to left. Our Lady to right. To left of Saint Joseph are the Magi. To right of Mary the shepherds. At far left and right the prophets David and Isaiah. Along bottom is written “For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
