Subject/Title of Window: The Temptation by Satan

Brief Description of Subject: "The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness, and he was in the wilderness for forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him." Mark 1

Here Jesus stands, head erect, his left hand holding his cloak, his right hand pointing to the heavens. Satan, done in green glass, is a handsome horned fellow with amber eyes. He holds a piece of ready gold and he works all his blandishments. The vulture sits in a dead tree above the devil.

How perfectly etched are the vulture's feathers and the sinister long fingers of the devil's pointing hand.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
