Subject/Title of Window: Passion of Christ

Brief Description of Subject: Gothic-arched window depicting Passion, Resurrection, and Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Window is in three lancets with three vignettes each, total nine. To be read from bottom to top, left side, right side, center.

1: Entry into Jerusalem. Our Lord on donkey with two figures behind waving palm branches. Caption: “Behold Thy King Cometh”
2: Christ Washing His Disciples’ Feet [not shown]. Christ is kneeling. An Apostle sitting at left. Two others standing in background. “The Servant is not Greater than his Lord.”
3: Institution of the Most Holy Eucharist. Christ stands holding a chalice. One Apostle seated on each side. “This Do in Remembrance of Me”
4: Agony in Gethsemane. Christ kneels in foreground, with chalice coming down from Heaven. [Angel not shown.] Sts. Peter, James, and John sleep in background. “Not My Will But Thine Be Done”
5: Betrayal by Judas. Judas kisses Our Lord to point Him out to the two soldiers in background. “Betrayest Thou the Son of Man”
6: Trial before Pilate. Pilate sitting on throne of judgment. Our Lord standing. Guard on right. “I Find no Fault in This Man”
7: Burial. Two Apostles lower Our Lord’s body into the grave. St. Mary Magdalen stands in background.
8: Resurrection. St. Mary Magdalen kneels at left, adoring the Risen Lord.
9: Ascension. Our Lord stands in center with outspread arms. An angel kneels on either side.
