Subject/Title of Window: Pathway to Heaven

Brief Description of Subject: From brochure "The Stained Glass Windows of Friendship Christian Reformed Church."
Our life journey inspires the design of this window. With plants and flowers in the foreground, we are reminded of the many beautiful surprises God plants in our pathway. The tree symbolizes the fruit-filled life we strive to live. Along our journey we also experience heartache and pain, shown by the rocky areas alongside the path. But the final destination of heaven is an unbelievable celebration, where the angels will be welcoming all those who were faithful.

Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right of the left; keep your foot from evil. - Proverbs 4:25-27

A word from the artists...
We consider it a privilege to have been asked to design and build six stained glass windows for Friendship Church's new facility. We thank our families and friends for the support they have shown during the past nine months while we spent many hours researching, sketching, cutting, grinding, leading, and mudding. We thank Maria Orr for her expertise in finalizing our designs and for the glass paintings she so skillfully rendered for each of the figures. Most of all we thank God for the gift of His Son, which was our ultimate inspiration throught this project.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
