Brief Description of Subject: From brochure "The Stained Glass Windows of Friendship Christian Reformed Church."
While in many ways this is a "typical" stained glass window design, the story of the Good Shepherd is always new and meaningful. The rocky crag of our sin creates a distance between us and God. When Christ leaves the 99 safely in the fold to search for the one lost sheep, we understand the depth of his love for each of us.

Note that the glass used in the sky is extra window glass that was found in a store room of our first church building.

What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.  Matthew 18:12-14

A word from the artists...
We consider it a privilege to have been asked to design and build six stained glass windows for Friendship Church's new facility. We thank our families and friends for the support they have shown during the past nine months while we spent many hours researching, sketching, cutting, grinding, leading, and mudding. We thank Maria Orr for her expertise in finalizing our designs and for the glass paintings she so skillfully rendered for each of the figures. Most of all we thank God for the gift of His Son, which was our ultimate inspiration throught this project.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
