Brief Description of Subject: The left panel shows an angel giving the shepherds the news that the Messiah is going to be born that night. The right panel is the Holy Family in the stable at Bethlehem, accompanied by animals. A star shines from above and the lily that Joseph holds symbolizes the announcement of the Incarnation made by the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary. Designed by Marguerite Gaudin.
