Brief Description of Subject: Top: the hand of God the Father in blessing. Life of St. Paul, a book and a sword represent the word of God and the sword of the Spirit. In one of his letters (Ephesians 6:17), Paul speaks of the word of God (the Bible) as the sword of the Spirit. Small center medallion, St. Paul heals the cripple at Lystra (Acts 14:8). Paul is also shown preaching of the unknown God at mars hill, Athens (Acts 17:22). Bottom medallion: the miracle of Melita with snakes coming out of the fire.
