Subject/Title of Window: Cornelius and the Angel

Brief Description of Subject: The scene in this window is based on Acts 10:1 - 4: "There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion ... A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave alms to the people, and prayed to God always. He saw in a vision ... an angel of God coming to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God." KJV

It is not known with certainty when this window was made other than before 1932, the year Tiffany Studios went out of business. Neither is it known where it was first installed. In 1989 it was donated to the Adrian Dominican Sisters in memory of Sister Mary Richard Rea by her nephew Richard H. Driehaus, and her sister Margaret Driehaus nee Rea. In 1994 it was installed in the Dominican Life Center in Adrian.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
