Subject/Title of Window: Easter Morning
Brief Description of Subject: The window was dedicated on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1926. The scene is based on the risen Christ appearing to Mary Magdalene on Easter morning as recorded in John 20:11 - 17.
The scene is set in a bucolic landscape lit by the morning sun. Christ is posed as speaking. Mary is pictured as a young woman with long hair and holding an alabaster jar of perfumed oil. The jar of perfumed oil and long hair as her attributes comes from the tradition that Mary Magdalene was the repentant sinner in Luke 7:32 - 50 --- she outraged the Pharisees as she wet Jesus' feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair, kissed his feet, and poured perfumed oil on them.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
