Subject/Title of Window: Annunciation/Baptism

Brief Description of Subject: Description: In lens at top of picture is an angel with a shield that had the Greek letters chi and rho -- the first 2 letters of the Greek spelling of "Christ". Next lens down is a picture of the first of the Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary -- the Annunciation (Luke 1 :26 -38). The angel Gabriel is seen holding a branch from an almond tree (chosen by God) and announcing to Mary that she shall be the mother of Jesus. The Holy spirit is seen in the form of a descending dove. Next lens down is Blessed Martin DePorres with his attributes -- costumed as a Dominican and holding a crucifix (he had a special devotion to the cross). Next lens down is a picture of the Baptism of Christ (Matt.3:13-17). John the Baptist is seen holding cross topped staff with a banner that reads "Ecce Agnus Dei" Behold the Lamb of God -- words spoken by John the Baptist (John 1:29). John is seen pouring water from the Jordan River on Christ who is dressed in red (human nature). In a hexagon at the bottom of the window is a picture of a man's face with stylized wings for its body which is the attribute of Matthew the Evangelist.

One of 10 aisle windows. Each aisle window has 5 parts. The tops of  the windows will cover the 4 of the Joyous Mysteries of the Rosary and all 5 of the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. The bottom scenes will cover various scenes from the life of Christ -- most of which will become part of the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. Each window also has a saint.
