Subject/Title of Window: Finding of Jesus in the Temple

Brief Description of Subject: Description: Floral pattern in background is grapes and grape leaves -- symbolizing Christ. Quatrefoil on top contains the eight spoked  "Ichthys Wheel". The wheel contains the first letter of the Greek words for "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior". I do not know what lies in the bottom cusp of that quatrefoil. Below that is a crown with lights which is probably the "Crown of Immortality". Christ, age 12, is seen teaching in the Temple to the elders. Quatrefoil at bottom contains the Ark of The Covenant and a menorah.

Note: Finding of Jesus in the Temple is described in Luke 2:29 -32. (Paraphrasing) Returning from Jerusalem, Joseph and Mary realized that Jesus was missing. After searching for three days they found him in the Temple of Jerusalem teaching to the elders. They were amazed by his knowledge.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
