Brief Description of Subject: Description: This Church had a special design for a shrine to St. Therese better known as the "Little Flower" -- see floor plan. She was a Carmelite nun that took the name "Sister Therese of the Child Jesus and Holy Face". She died at the age of 28 in 1897. Two years after her death, her autobiography called "Story of a Soul" was published. It took the Catholic world by storm. She was fast tracked to sainthood which happen in 1926. The inscription is a quote from her autobiography and helps understand what this window is about. She wrote "When I die, I will rain down roses (from heaven)!" The window depicts Sister Therese of the Child Jesus, now in heaven, with a rose in one hand and is offering a rose to Mary, Queen of Heaven, with the other. The Child Jesus has already received a rose from her. Three angels are witnessing the event.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
