Subject/Title of Window: St. James the Lesser

Brief Description of Subject: Window description: St. James the Lesser is scene holding a saw and a scroll. Legend has him thrown from the temple roof. He survived the fall but was then beaten and his body sawed into pieces -- hence the saw. The scroll symbolizes that he was an epistle writer.

Window tracery: In addition to the normal protection this window as well as all of the windows on the lower story that face the street have a screen that covers the entire window. The cross hatching on the screen becomes visible on the window as light shines through. On the close up it can be seen around the halo and on the curtain.
