Subject/Title of Window: Thanksgiving
Brief Description of Subject: One in a set of three windows located on the west wall of chancel. Thanksgiving depicts a chalice, grapes, wheat, corn, pumpkin, folded hands, a kiddish cup and matzoh. Most windows in the Alumni Memorial Chapel are sets of three on the same general topic with the same donor. This window is grouped with Adoration (R1a) and Sacrifice (R1b). Includes chalice and paten as well as kiddish cup and matzoh. The chalice and Paten represent the Holy Eucharist, i.e., Thanksgiving, the ancient word for the Communion. The American Thanksgiving is represented by corn, grapes, wheat and pumpkins. The simple grace (hands folded). The Jewish Passover is represented by a Monorah, seven branched candlestick, the kiddish cup and matzoh with ceremonial napkin over it. Designed by Anthony Mako.
