Brief Description of Subject: Salutation-Mary saluting Elizabeth before the first of John the Baptist. Annunciation-Gabriel announcing the coming birth of Christ to Mary. Nativity and Adoration-Mary, Joseph, Christ Child and the Magi in the manger setting. Glorification-The song of the angels.

Inscriptions: “The gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brighness of thy rising.”
“Douglass Houghton, M.D., State Geologist, born Troy, NY, September 21, 1809; drowned Eagle River, Michigan, October 13, 1845. Presented Christmas 1877 by A.L.N.”
