Brief Description of Subject: One in a set of three windows located on the East wall of Nave. Creativity depicts the Beaumont Tower, the yin yang (Chinese symbol of creation) a lamp (symbolizing achievements in all fields, small symbols of music, dance, painting,sculpture, drama, and architecture. The zig-zag moving design of the background expresses the growth of the Creative Arts. Most windows in the Alumni Memorial Chapel are sets of three on the same general topic with the same donor. This window is grouped with Learning (L-2a) and Aspiration (L-2c). The artist places the Tao in the dominant position in this piece, emphasizing the place of balance and connectivity in the creative process. Even the lamp of knowledge comes under its influence.
