Brief Description of Subject: This window recalls the Biblical story of the slaughter of the innocents. King Herod upon hearing from the Wise Men that a royal child had been in Israel began to fear that he had a rival to his throne. He ordered the murder of all the first born sons of all the families in Israel. Joseph warned of this by an angel in a dream and told to seek refuge in Egypt until the danger had passed. The angel in the window holds a palm branch calling to mind Palm Sunday, which stands at the head of Easter week, the Christian Passover celebration.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
