Subject/Title of Window: Government Window

Brief Description of Subject: The government window draws a parallel between American government and the Presbyterian denominational structure. At the top of the window are images of Old Testament judges: Samuel, Deborah and Gideon.

Next is an image of the Declaration of Independence, superimposed with the signa-ture of John Witherspoon who was a Presby-terian clergyman, and the only active clergy-man to sign the document.

Beneath that are images of Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson, James Buchanan and Grover Cleveland, and the phrase “Let justice roll down like waters”. (Amos 5:24).

Then we go to the bottom image. At the top is a snare drum and underneath the statement “Righteousness, like an ever flowing stream” (Amos 5:24).

Beneath that are the images of Benjamin Harrison, Woodrow Wilson, Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan”.
