Brief Description of Subject: This window depicts an illustrated version of the superscript and the six verses of Psalm 23 (KJV).
                                      "Psalm of David"
1. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
3. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6. Surely goodness and mercy will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

The focal point of this window is Christ pictured in a mandorla. It is used to illustrate verse 1 "The Lord is my Shepherd," and verse 4 "thy rod and thy staff comfort me." Under this image is the inscription "The Good Shepherd," which comes from John 10:11, where Jesus proclaimed, "I am the Good Shepherd."

At the bottom right of the window is found the name of the maker and date --- "The Willet Studio Phila. 49."

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
