Brief Description of Subject: In the early days when it was politically dangerous to be a Christian, the fish symbol served as an identifier as well as a sign of a place of worship. The Greek word for fish was used also as an acronym for "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior." Jesus called his disciples to become "fishers of men."
