Subject/Title of Window: Five-Pointed Star

Brief Description of Subject: In Matthew 2:2 we read the question of the wise men: "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews, for we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him." A symbol of the Epiphany, the five-pointed star also is the star "out of Jacob" (Numbers 24:17), Jesus Christ, "the bright morning star" (Revelation 22:16), who manifested Himself to the Gentiles. Since it usually accompanies scenes of the Nativity, it is the star of Christmas.

Contributors to the cost of the windows include Henricka Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Herm Deal, Athalia M. Demski, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Elliot, Mrs. Leonard Goodsell, Dr. and Mrs. Hans Gygi, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Sherman, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Tomkins and Mr. and Mrs. Marniv VanEyck.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact
