Subject/Title of Window: Cross of Christ

Brief Description of Subject: The Latin or Roman cross, the form on which it is said our Lord was crucified, is symbolic of Christ's passion and blood atonement. The red and gold colorings indicate the blood so triumphantly shed. Already down and empty, the cross signifies the victory gained, for Christ is risen as He foretold. As Paul said, "God forbid that I should glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Galatians 6:14)

Contributors to the cost of the windows include Henricka Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Herm Deal, Athalia M. Demski, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Elliot, Mrs. Leonard Goodsell, Dr. and Mrs. Hans Gygi, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Sherman, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Tomkins and Mr. and Mrs. Marniv VanEyck.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
